Aerodynamics Development Engineer (m/w/d)

YOUR TASKS

Your responsibilities at Akkodis

  • Support for engineering teams: Support various engineering groups in the design and certification of aircraft through aerodynamic analysis
  • Aircraft modeling and definition: Responsible for the comprehensive process of aircraft lofting and the creation and maintenance of aircraft definition drawings, including the generation and upkeep of aircraft loft models
  • CFD activities: Perform the full suite of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) activities - CAD preparation, mesh generation, CFD calculations, post-processing, analysis and presentation
  • Wind tunnel support: Assist in wind tunnel activities, including test matrix planning, data acquisition, data reduction, analysis and CFD validation
  • Design optimization: Set up a design optimization framework linking parametric CAD models to CFD codes.

 

 

YOUR PROFILE

Your proficiencies:

  • Educational Background: Possess a Master's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
  • Professional Experience: Brings forth 5 years of relevant experience in aerodynamic applications, with highly desirable experience in powerplant CFD, including propeller flow simulation
  • Technical Competencies: Proficient in both creating and processing CAD geometric parametric models using CAD/CATIA V5, as well as in utilizing programming languages like Python, Matlab, csh, FORTRAN, C/C++ or Java to develop tools and scripts for manipulating large datasets
  • Computational and Analytical Skills: Proficient in High Performance Computing on UNIX/Linux platforms and possesses knowledge of aerodynamic shape optimization techniques
  • Visualization and Post-Processing: Experienced in post-processing and visualizing complex fluid flow solutions using scientific visualization packages, preferably Tecplot
