With a view to strengthening the team, we are looking for a:

Topside Commissioning Lead- Oil & Gas

What will your contribution be at Akkodis?

Within our Energy division you will be involved in a project related to the Oil & Gas sector.

The resource will support the project and will be required to carry out the following activities:

  • Report to the Topside Commissioning Manager and support the execution of commissioning for the assigned Topside systems.
  • Lead field activities for pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, test runs, and handover of FPSO Topside Units, adhering to safety, quality, time, and budget targets.
  • Manage safe and efficient commissioning, start-up, and performance testing, with strict HSE compliance.
  • Coordinate a multidisciplinary team (control room operators, discipline supervisors, foremen, technicians, vendor reps, Class inspectors, Client) to ensure readiness and execution.
  • Review project schedule, finalize P&ID mark-ups, and prepare/secure Client approval of commissioning deliverables (Method Statements, OTPs, JSAs, Risk Assessments, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain three-month look-ahead schedules; ensure availability of tools, consumables, and spare parts; manage third-party inspectors as required.
  • Act as Process and Mechanical Isolation authority; manage Punch Point screening and closure; ensure proper traceability of modifications.
  • Support Ready-for-Commissioning dossiers and certificate review/acceptance; participate in PTW processes and shipyard HSE initiatives.
  • Interface with Construction, Field Engineering, Class/Certification inspectors, and Client to ensure smooth handovers and ongoing alignment.
  • Lead and develop site team competency; monitor performance and escalate issues as needed.

About you

Requirements to start your professional path:

  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in EPC Oil & Gas execution (onshore/offshore), with at least one FPSO project from shipyard pre-commissioning through offshore commissioning, start-up, and performance testing as Commissioning Lead/Engineer within an EPC contractor.
  • Education: Technical diploma or Engineering bachelor’s degree.
    Growth trajectory: Demonstrated progression from site commissioning supervisor to system owner in commissioning.
  • Travel/Location: Willingness to work across Paris, China Onshore, and Angola Offshore; comfortable with international travel and multi-cultural teams.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and team management, excellent planning and scheduling, robust QA/QC knowledge, effective communication, problem solving, and ability to manage interfaces with clients, vendors, and regulators.
  • Language: English required; French and/or Portuguese are advantageous.
  • Certifications: Relevant safety/HSE certifications and any client/class-specific qualifications are a plus.
