Job description
The Technical Support person provides various types of technical and administrative support to the technical direction team and the team members of the Medical Communications Unit, including quality control responsibilities.
Your tasks and responsibilities are:
QC (Quality control)
- Perform technical and data check of MedCom deliverables (e.g., publications, congress activities) in accordance with the applicable process and Quality Assurance (QA) forms.
- Project documentation auditing (self-inspection)
Technical support
- Circulation of abstract/manuscript drafts and collection of forms via the client’s software
- Sending reminders to stakeholders for the review of publications
- Compilation of reviewers’ comments
- Preparation, collection, and compilation of forms (e.g., conflict of interest, acknowledgement, copyright statements), follow-up with stakeholders where needed
- Online research of journal/congress guidelines for document development
- Initial check of pre-publication galley proofs and poster layouts
- Ensuring alignment between client’s Global Publication Plan and Publication Plan in client’s software
- Document Management System/publication planning tool (e.g., updating projects within the document management system with necessary information, data extraction/reporting, quality/sanity check of projects)
- Project Management system support (e.g., project updates within the system)
- Other type of support: importing studies, development of user guide and other training material related to the use of software/tool, support in technical issues of the software/tool
- Provide training sessions and coaching on demand
Technical Direction and MedCom support
- Various administrative support depending on the request (e.g., circulate, update or (re)organize documentation, follow up with reminders, meeting planning)
- Retrieval of background materials for briefing packages (e.g., protocols, clinical reports/other documents from client’s document management systems)
- Article search (PDF retrieval)
- Archiving of published documents in client’s publication planning software

Profile
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (in science is an asset) or equivalent level though documented experience
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Dutch and/or French knowledge is an asset

- Ability to manage several tasks in parallel, to prioritize and to propose creative solutions
- Excellent team worker
- Excellent communication skills; diplomacy, comfort with a variety of styles and high cultural sensitivity
- Meeting facilitation skills, including ability to work in an international environment and as part of virtual teams
- Good planning and organization skills
- Excellent eye for detail and quality-oriented mindset
- Expertise in MS Office
- Strong interest in quality assurance
- Previous experience in the quality assurance field (and more precisely as a QCer) is an asset
