Job description

Scope of activity:

Cycles Studies, incorporating Cycle Studies activities;
Neutronic studies & Tools: incorporating all activities related to Criticality, Shielding, Activation, Residual Heat and Fuel Data Base(s);
Core Multiphysics, Methods & Support, encompassing cross-cutting activities and common projects within the range of Core & Fuel Studies expertise.

Responsabilities:

Engineering studies in the domain of core and fuel physics using industry-standard methods and simulation codes;
Neutron activation studies;
Radiation transport and shielding calculations;
Spent fuel characterization;
Fluence, source terms and decay heat calculations;
Safety-criticality assessments;
Various neutronic studies related to spent fuel casks;
Write engineering reports of the analyses & calculations carried out.

Profile

Profile:

Civil engineer specialized in nuclear energy or nuclear physics;
Good theoretical background of nuclear systems and core physics phenomena;
Keen to develop a technical expertise and ready to invest yourself in the physics simulation codes and methods;
Have proficiency in IT (with an emphasis python programming), or willing to learn this quickly;
Fluent in French or Dutch , with a good knowledge of English. Able to write clear technical synthesis reports and for easy communication;
Able to do self-verification with a rigorous mind and deliver quality within tight schedules;
Good listener, dynamic and team worker.
