Assignments
We are looking for a TCU Calibration Engineer to join the team and contribute to the calibration and validation of an electrified Dual Clutch Transmission (eDCT) system.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Performing the calibration work packages assigned to you, using dedicated equipment and applying the correct processes
- Fine-tuning parameters, validating control strategies, and ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability of the system under different driving scenarios
- Defining and conducting test plans to calibrate and validate the eDCT system under various operating conditions and test setups (transmission test bench, chassis dynamometer, vehicle)
- Performing drivability assessments (objective and subjective), supported by data acquisition systems
- Managing the calibration datasets of the software modules assigned to you
- Collaborating with different disciplines to solve technical roadblocks
- Interacting and exchanging experience with customers, service providers, and teammates across various locations
The profile
Background
You hold a Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent by experience, with a strong interest in the automotive sector.
Must Have
- 2 to 6 years of experience as a powertrain calibration and/or controls engineer, ideally in drivability, shift quality, torque control, or related areas
- Strong automotive background and solid knowledge of powertrain dynamics
- Good knowledge of block diagrams and Matlab/Simulink
- Experience with calibration tools and data acquisition systems (e.g. Vector CANape, ETAS INCA)
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate and report results clearly
- Valid EU driving licence (category B)
- Flexible mindset, willing to travel abroad and to work in either Sint-Truiden or Lommel
- Goal-oriented, persevering, and solution-driven approach
- Independent and systematic way of working
Nice to Have
- Solid background and knowledge of e-Drive systems
- Knowledge of programming languages (C/C++, M-script, Python)
- Experience with AVL CRETA, AVL DRIVE, AVL CAMEO, or AVL SPA
