Akkodis Life Sciences division is the Italian leader for engineering consulting, validation and GMP services for pharmaceutical, chemical and healthcare companies. In order to strengthen the division, we are looking for an: 

OT System Architect / Lead – Pharma 

Join our Life Sciences division, a group of over 400 consultants working in Italy and of around 5.000 consultants working across other European Regions in the Life Sciences. Our strength has always been the integration of our expertise, which allows us to have a 360° view of the pharmaceutical world. 

What will your contribution be in Akkodis? 

The OT Architect is accountable for defining, governing, and evolving Operational Technology (OT) architectures in regulated Life Sciences environments.

The role ensures that OT systems supporting manufacturing, laboratories, and utilities are compliant, secure, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.

The position combines deep technical expertise with governance and performance management responsibilities, including KPI definition and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain OT architecture standards and reference models across manufacturing, QC, and utilities environments
• Act as technical authority for OT systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS, MES, historians) across their full lifecycle
• Ensure that architectures are appropriately documented
• Support business in debug/troubleshooting sessions
• Drive OT–IT alignment in collaboration with IT, Cybersecurity, Quality, and Engineering functions
• Contribute to OT cybersecurity architecture, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
• Define, implement, and track OT KPIs (e.g. changes status)
• Analyze performance metrics to support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making
• Ensure compliance with GxP regulations (GMP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11) and data integrity requirements
• Support vendors and system integrators, ensuring technical and architectural governance

About you 

Requirements to start your growth path: 

• Strong experience in OT / Automation roles within Life Sciences or regulated industries
• Solid knowledge of industrial automation platforms, industrial networks, and system integration
• Proven understanding of GxP compliance
• Experience with OT cybersecurity concepts and risk management
• Ability to define and manage KPIs and translate technical performance into business insights
• Fluency in Italian and English
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in cross-functional environments

Certifications (Preferred)

• ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Certification (e.g. ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert or Specialist)
